We were asked to update the working, dining and lounge areas of this busy, talented West side film editing company. When we started, they had a pool table, foosball and TV gaming areas, scarce dining space, a dimly lit, cavernous main corridor- little color or visual continuity in the space. They wanted elegant yet functional standing-up or sitting workstations, and dining and lounge areas allowing guests and employees to charge mobile devices in a fun, comfortable breakout area with physical and screen based gaming. The first image here shows how their headquarters looked when we started. Image 2 shows our floorplan in which devised banquette seating (with storage drawers) to wrap 3 walls. We designed and produced an 18 foot long shuffleboard table with glowing bar seating on either side and a series of 3 couches to create the gaming nook. One of the couches faces either way so as to allow people to face either the gaming/TV zone or the shuffleboard table zone. Finally the hallway workstations shown in white Corian and Walnut were so popular that all the other editors requested that their bays be upgraded to this new parardigm.
